Interdisciplinary Journal of Signage and Visual Communications

DEADLINE: October 1, 2018 | PUBLICATION: December 30, 2018

The Interdisciplinary Journal of Signage and Visual Communications seeks to provide a forum where scholars from a variety of academic disciplines (such as law, planning, engineering, business, art, economics, architecture, landscape architecture, industrial design, and graphic design) may publish their scholarship dedicated to wayfinding and the importance of effective signage. The upcoming issue of this on-line, open source journal will focus on the impact of disruptive technologies on signage and wayfinding.  This call is also open to authors who have prepared pieces on other topics related to signs and wayfinding.

Authors must submit their work no later than October 1, 2018.  Articles from all disciplines will be considered for publication and as such, the journal will contain both academic articles and reports prepared by practitioners. Authors will be expected to utilize the writing and citation conventions appropriate for publication in their discipline.  The journal will print reproductions of important scholarly articles to the extent that the author may obtain permission for the same.

The content of each article will be subject to double blind peer review.  The editor will assign articles received to academics and/or practitioners in the related field of study.  These reviewers include, among others, the members of the Academic Advisory Council for Sign Education and Research.  Please upload submissions at:  Questions and completed manuscripts should be sent to
